Charting Pediatrics

Dec 21, 2021

Due to deficient synthesis of hemaglobin that may be caused by inadequate heme production or abnormalities of globin chain synthesis, Microcytic anemias are among the most common types of anemia in pediatric patients. Today, we will talk through their screening, workup, and treatment. Thank you to listener, Dr. Michelle Shiffman, a colleague from Denver Health, who inspired this episode.

Today I am joined by Dr. Taizo Nakano, Medical Director of the Vascular Anomalies Center at Children’s Colorado and Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Hematology/Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplantation at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
